Santo Domingo.- Los artistas dominicanos Romeo Santos y Cardi B figuran entre los nominados a Premios Billboard, él en categorías latinas y ella en las generales (ocho en total), en franca competencia con estrellas como 21 Savage, Camila Cabello, Demi Lovato y Taylor Swift.

Romeo Santos obtuvo dos: Top Latin Artist, junto a J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi y Ozuna, y Top Latin Album por "Golden", que compite con Nicky Jam, "Fenix"; Christian Nodal, "Me dejé llevar"; Ozuna, "Odisea" y Shakira, "El Dorado".

Mientras, Cardi B figura con ocho menciones, entre ellas Top New Artist (artista revelación), al lado de 21 Savage, Camila Cabello, Khalid y Kodak Black; en Top Female Artist, por igual con Camila Cabello, además de Halsey, Demi Lovato y Taylor Swift.

La tercera fue en Top Rap Song por "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)”; que compiete con DJ Khaled ft. Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance The Rapper & Lil Wayne, “I’m The One"; French Montana ft. Swae Lee, “Unforgettable”; Kendrick Lamar, “Humble”; y Post Malone ft. 21 Savage, “Rockstar”.

La cuarta la logró en Top Streaming Song (Video) por "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)"; además de figurar ahí Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber, "Despacito"; Lil Pump, "Gucci Gang"; Bruno Mars, "That’s What I Like" y Ed Sheeran, "Shape of You".

En la categoría Top Latin Song compiten J Balvin & Willy William Ft. Beyonce: “Mi Gente”; Becky G ft. Bad Bunny, ”Mayores”; Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber por “Despacito”; Maluma, “Felices Los 4” y Wisin ft. Ozuna, “Escapate Conmigo”.

LOS QUE DOMINAN

El flamante ganador del Pulitzer Kendrick Lamar, así como Ed Sheeran y Bruno Mars son los favoritos en la próxima edición de los premios Billboard con un total de 15 nominaciones cada uno, anunció la organización en un comunicado.

Los tres artistas competirán por el premio al mejor artista junto con Drake (nueve candidaturas) y Taylor Swift (cinco nominaciones) en la ceremonia que tendrá lugar el próximo 20 de mayo en el MGM Gran Arena de Las Vegas (Nevada).

Otros nombres con grandes opciones para estos galardones son Post Malone, con 12 nominaciones, y la banda Imagine Dragons, con 10 candidaturas. Justin Bieber y la hispana Cardi B quedaron empatados con 8 nominaciones, mientras que los puertorriqueños Luis Fonsi y Daddy Yankee comparten 7 candidaturas.

Su célebre tema "Despacito", compuesto por la panameña Erika Ender, fue mencionado en categorías como mejor canción del Top Hot 100, canción más escuchada, mejor vídeo, canción más vendida o mejor colaboración, entre otras.

La ceremonia anual de entrega de premios se transmitirá en vivo el domingo 20 de mayo.

Los finalistas de Billboard Music Awards se basan en las ventas de álbumes y canciones digitales, emisiones radiofónicas, transmisión, giras y participación social, y se determinan utilizando datos en un período de seguimiento de 12 meses.
